Addressing Workplace Accessibility Practices Through Technical Communication Research Methods: One Size Does Not Fit All

Background: Accessibility of digital materials within workplaces continues to be an issue that is not readily and completely addressed through legal compliance institutional policy. Despite the lack marked improvement in accessibility, many continue pursue a policy approach including checklists guidelines. Literature review: attention paid accessibility surrounding issues by scholars field technical professional communication, little direction has been given help practitioners advocate for workplace. Research question: Can common ground between values discovered leveraged motivate value-driven accessibility? methods: Common theory was used code analyze data obtained from research interviews 18 university instructors determine how they consider process developing their course documents. Data were coded analyzed discover attitudes toward accessibility.
